The Exploration Museum in Húsavík, North Iceland is looking for volunteers that want to contribute their talents, knowledge, enthusiasm and energy to building a better museum.The volunteer program is ongoing all year.

“In addition to welcoming visitors, museum volunteers work with staff members on both short-term and long-term projects, as well as working on new exhibitions, writing and research.”

Duration of volunteer work can vary from 2 weeks to 2 months. The museum provides foreign volunteers (and those who do not live in Húsavík) with accommodation and breakfast every morning.

Örlygur Hnefill Örlygsson is the manager of Húsavík Hotels and co-founder of bookiceland.co.uk. He has worked as a journalist at Fréttablaðið newspaper in Reykjavík and at the Parliament of Iceland, as an assistant to MP for North East Constituency.
