13% increase in overnight stays

A total of 202.500 overnight stays were registered at hotels in Iceland in June 2012, a 13% increase from June 2011 when 178.800 overnight stays were registered, figures from Statistics Iceland show. Nights spent by foreign guests accounted for 86 percent of the total number of overnight stays.

These figures do not include guests staying at guesthouses, hostels and other accommodation options.
