Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir awarded Icelandic Literary Prize

Author Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir has been awarded the Icelandic Literary Prize for her book Everything Is Woken with a Kiss (Allt með kossi vekur). The award was presented to her by the President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, at the president’s residence Bessastaðir yesterday. Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir was born in 1976. This is her sixth novel.

She was awarded the DV Culture Prize in 2006 for her novel Yosoy. Her novel Lecture on Happiness was nominated for the Icelandic Literature Prize in 2000.

The Icelandic Literary Prize is the most prestigious prize awarded for literature and academic writings in Iceland. Páll Björnsson, professor of modern studies at the University of Akureyri, was awarded the prize for academic writings, for his book about Icelandic independence activist Jón Sigurðsson.
