UK’s largest airline, Easyjet, and the brand new Icelandic airline, WOW Air, will be launching flights to and from Keflavik airport in 2012. Starting this spring, this will increase accessibility from the UK to Iceland by numerous flights a week.
Easyjet will operate a route from London Luton airport to Keflavík airport three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights are already on sale with seats starting from as little as £32.99 for a one way ticket and £58.81 for a return fare (inc.taxes). It is safe to say that these fares mark a new history for travelers to and from Iceland, offering cheap flights with possible connections to the total of 29 countries.
WOW air is a new Icelandic company, offering flights from Iceland to 12 destinations in Europe, including: Warsaw and Krakow, Poland; Cologne, Germany and Lyon, France. The fleet consists of two Airbus A320, offering good comfort and space for passengers. According to WOW Air’s website, safety on board is a priority and professionally trained staff will be guaranteed to meet all safety standards. Healthy, Icelandic refreshments are to be served on board.
